Proffe: Protein and Coffee Revolution!

You know I’m all about mixing my drinks :)

I did everything, from smoothies, superfoods, powders, but one thing that I haven’t thought about (amazingly) is mixing protein and coffee…

Introducing Proffee!

I still don’t know how I haven’t seen this coming…

Coffee has always been the morning ritual that helps people feel awake and ready for the day.

The idea is simple.

Mix your favorite coffee with a scoop of protein powder or even a ready-to-drink protein shake, and you get a beverage that promises energy, muscle support, and even weight loss.

But is it really worth the hype?

Next Big Thing?

Many people love the convenience.

Coffee already gives a boost through caffeine, while protein delivers the building blocks your muscles need.

For you who exercise in the morning, the combination feels like a one-two punch that both energizes and supports recovery.

Two flies in one hit, right?

Some even find that adding protein helps take the edge off the jitters coffee sometimes brings on its own.

And I’m definitely in that group, but to be honest, it’s not just protein, any food but the sugars calms my jitters when I drink more coffee than usual.

There are also benefits for people who tend to skip breakfast.

Protein plays a key role in controlling hunger, and spreading it evenly throughout the day may be better than loading it all into one meal.

A protein coffee can be an easy way to get 20 to 30 grams of protein first thing, which may help keep cravings at bay and provide more balanced energy.

Weight management is another reason for the trend’s popularity.

Protein increases feelings of fullness and slightly raises the number of calories the body burns during digestion.

Combined with the metabolism-boosting effects of caffeine, it is no surprise that fitness enthusiasts see protein coffee as a practical tool for reaching their goals.

Might Work, but…

Still, Proffee is not a magic bullet.

Protein powders do not replace whole foods, which provide fiber, vitamins, minerals, and other compounds that powders lack.

Many store-bought powders and shakes also come with additives, sugars, or artificial sweeteners that you might wanna skip.

So, if it’s cheap (and this is mostly true for the most brands out there), skip it.

There is also the issue of quality.

Some powders have been found to contain heavy metals or unwanted fillers, making it important to choose trusted brands.

Again, if it’s cheap, or let me put it this way… if it’s too good to be true, don’t buy it.

Then there is the simple fact that most people already get enough protein from food, especially if they include eggs, yogurt, meats, beans and more in their diet.

For these people, stirring protein into coffee does not add much benefit.

A balanced breakfast that pairs coffee with whole protein-rich foods like eggs and oats still outshines a scoop of powder in terms of overall nutrition.

But for you eager to try it, preparation matters.

Protein powder can clump when mixed directly into hot coffee, which makes for an unpleasant texture.

To avoid this, blend it with a small amount of cool liquid first before pouring it into coffee.

Ready-to-drink protein shakes can also be used as a creamer substitute, which blends more smoothly.

Iced coffee works particularly well, since cold liquids tend to mix with protein without much fuss.

Have Some Fun

Flavor combinations are endless, which is part of the fun.

Vanilla or chocolate protein powders pair easily with coffee, while you can get creative by adding cinnamon, cocoa, or even collagen powder for an extra boost.

If you need some inspiration, well, your friend TikTok comes to help, as you’ll find thousands and thousands of videos on proffer…

And that’s exactly the reason I’ll say the following.

As with any wellness trend, the key is to know your own needs.

If you are already meeting your protein goals and enjoy a balanced breakfast, you probably do not need the next revolutionary TikTok trend to change your life around…

I’m not saying that proffer is a bad thing, not even a bit.

But if you’re expecting it to solve world hunger – it won’t.

Oh, and one more thing.

If you have gut sensitivities, kidney issues, or are pregnant, proffer may not be the best choice for you.

I would definitely check with a healthcare professional if drinking proffee is safe for me.
